16. TROUBLESHOOTING

(a) SESSION TIMEOUT ERROR Click the HOME BUTTON and the case law database will load. This is the page you will see everytime you open TheLaw.net Equalizer 7.0. (b) I CANNOT ACTIVATE Q: I enter the activation code/license number and click OK and nothing happens. A: You probably committed a typo when you entered the 16 character code. Try again! (c) THELAW.NET DOESN'T RECEIVE UPDATE (Windows Vista/7 Users) 1. Right click TheLaw.net Icon and select PROPERTIES 2. Click the COMPATIBILITY TAB 3. Look down slightly and click the checkbox captioned RUN THIS PROGRAM AS AN ADMINISTRATOR. 4. OK out of everything. 5. Now when you launch TheLaw.net it will receive updates! (d) THELAW.NET DOESN'T RECEIVE UPDATE (Windows XP Users) Typically this is related to your internet security/firewall software. Try disabling your security or firewall software then run TheLaw.net. If that doesn't work contact us. We can do a web conference and access your computer remotely to see what's going on. Note: Updates apply only to the Linkbar Menu File, which we refresh once a week. Case law is updated daily in the background and does not implicate the end-user.
